Maro Sciacchitano elected President of the Club

A Letter from Past President, David Frackelton

Dear Members of the Yale Club of Oregon and SW Washington,

As I write this note, my heart is full of gratitude and reflection. After five complex and fulfilling years serving as your President, the time has come for me to pass the baton.

I am thrilled to announce that at last night's Annual Meeting, the members approved Maro Sciacchitano (YC '03) to be your next President. Maro's dedication and passion for our club ensures that our tradition of excellence and camaraderie will continue.

Though I am stepping down as President, I am not saying goodbye. I will remain on the board for the next year, deeply invested in the success of our club and transitioning from Communications Lead, a role I've played for the past 8 years.

Reflecting on our journey together, I am reminded of a quote by Yale alumnus William Howard Taft: "The greatest service a leader can provide is putting the welfare of the people above their own self-interest." Serving you all has been joyful, and I am confident that Maro will continue to lead with the same spirit and dedication.

Thank you for your unwavering support, friendship, and shared love for Yale. Together, we have created something truly special, and I am excited about the future that lies ahead for our club.

With heartfelt gratitude,

David Frackelton, YC '79

Board Member and Past President
